The TRATO-TLV Group is one of the few French operators in the lighting industry. Its three companies, TRATO, TLV and BIOLUME RESINOR, offer a wide variety of professional lighting fixtures, hospital equipment, furniture for early childhood settings, as well as lighting control systems and related services.

For nearly 70 years TRATO, lighting division of the group, has provided architectural and custom-made lighting fittings for the tertiary sector, large-scale distribution and chains of stores, railway, subway, air and maritime transport, parking lots, clinics, hospitals and retirement homes.

Very adaptable and reacting quickly to the laws of the market, TRATO relies on high precision and compliance with the different prevailing standards, in different domains: low voltage, electromagnetic compatibilities and other European guidelines.

Today has many world-renowned firms trust TRATO for their lighting projects: our company also supports its customers in their international development.

Strength of these successes, TRATO continues to offer customized solutions and centres the development of new products on the low consumption and energy savings.

HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

  • 1947

    Creation of the family business TRATO (Rational Sheet Metal Work) by Michel PICHA, based in Roubaix.

  • 1951

    TRATO is developing by providing lighting solutions for all post offices in FRANCE.

  • 1961

    New move to 22, rue Molière in Roubaix, for bigger premises. This address is still the headquarters of the company today.

  • 1973

    TRATO is developing by providing lighting solutions for large chain stores.

  • 1976

    Investment in a chain of surface treatment and painting.

  • 1980

    Francis PICHA, the son of Michel PICHA is named CEO of the group.

  • 1981

    Creation of TLV (Technical and Light Vernier), which specializes in hospital lighting.

  • 1984

    Use of the first numerically controlled presses. Installation of commercial services for the Paris region at BOURGET.

  • 1985

    Export development at TLV.

  • 1987

    Use of the first digital punch presses.

  • 1989

    TRATO acquires an additional 2000m² building on the Roubaix site.

  • 1990

    Investments in production: CNC sheet metal machines – implementation of the GPAO.

  • 1992

    Expansion of the head office of the group and the factory bringing the total area of ​​TRATO-TLV to 15,000 m².

  • 1994

    TLV is also investing in a special C.N.C waterjet cutting machine.

  • 1995

    Implementation of CAD (Computer Aided Design). Establishment of Quality Assurance.

  • 1998

    TLV is ISO 9001 certified.

  • 2000

    Creation of the export unit at TRATO.

  • 2003

    Investment in robotics folding.

  • 2006

    IT investment E.R.P.

  • 2007

    New investments in robotics folding.

  • 2008

    Creation of the “INNOVATION LED” unit integrated into the Design Office, and implementation of a study for the warm-up test of LED products.

  • 2009

    New 2,500 m² logistics warehouse for TRATO, covering more than 17,500 m², and new investment in punching robotics.

  • 2011

    The TRATO-TLV group has a workforce of more than 180 employees, achieves sales over € 30 million and achieves 30% of its export sales.

  • 2012

    L’ensemble des gammes traditionnelles de la gamme du groupe sont disponibles en LED.

  • 2014

    Creation of a subsidiary in Brazil.

  • 2015

    The group continues its investment policy: Renovation of the surface treatment chain, new robotic folding solution Trubend 5170, new electric press Trubend 7036. It achieves € 44.5 million turnover, more than 50% of sales with products LED

  • 2017

    Expansion of the 1200m² warehouse located in Roubaix and amenities. Installation of a new water jet cutting robot for aluminum profiles at TLV. The group turnover is established at 50 billion euros.

  • 2018

    Acquisition of the BIOLUME RESINOR Group

  • 2020

    Investment in the TRUMPH T7000

    Charley and Guillaume PICHA are named as heads of the Group

LIGHTING DESIGN

Our teams support every lighting project, from the design stage through to completion. Using AutoCAD, DIALux and RELUX software, we carry out precise photometric analyses to design high-performance solutions that comply with regulatory requirements and are tailored to the needs of each installation. EULUMDAT photometric files are also available for all our product ranges.

MANUFACTURED IN FRANCE

From our site in Roubaix, we design and manufacture professional lighting solutions for shops, offices, industrial premises and public-facing establishments. Our expertise in manufacturing enables us to guarantee quality, responsiveness and support throughout every project.

DESIGN OFFICE

The design team constituted by engineers and designers, explores and develops products as a whole, specifications to achieve series through phases of validation and prototyping.

We offer bespoke lighting solutions for use in the retail sector. This means that clients are able to customise their lighting products so as to be able to match them to their image and their concept, creating something that is unique.

The skills of our engineering department remain varied et provide the ability to examine pieces which will be realized by means of the extrusion of aluminium or plastic, the plastic injection, the molding shell aluminium and other manufacturing process.

Our exclusive organization in terms of design and production insures you a quality of work and finishes with the utmost respect for deadlines.
